Prayers for people on the route staying on Athens streets

Dear CRS friends!

At the moment, hundreds of people are living on the streets of Athens. They have no access to food
cards, which would secure their supplies. They lack access to medical care. Even when they get the
care, there is a problem with obtaining the needed medication. There are whole families living on the
streets.
The temperatures in Athens are now about 35–40° C. Greek authorities consider moving the people
into camps, functioning as detention facilities, however. (This is in no way a humane solution!) Let us
pray together for their destinies and wise political decisions leading to a satisfactory living environment!

Prayer suggestions:
– Respect for human rights of the people on the route (especially their right to personal
freedom, human dignity…)
– Wisdom, courage and effort of politicians towards a satisfactory solution to migrants’
situation
– Safety and material security for the people on the Athens streets
– Medical and psychological help for people on the route
– Openness of people’s hearts to helping those in need
– Solution to the ongoing problem of overcrowded refugee camps all around Greece
– Relocation of unaccompanied children from the unsatisfactory conditions in Greece
– Protection, material security, integration of our adopted families, healing “our” children from
psychical consequences of refugee life
– Provision for Beirut explosion victims
– Provision for CRS needs (wisdom, presence of the Spirit, permanent supporters, favourable
epidemiological conditions for upcoming journeys…)
